Cassidy Palmer
Head Paralegal
Cassidy Palmer began her paralegal career in 2014, starting as a personal assistant to an attorney. Driven by a desire for greater challenges and responsibilities, she quickly expanded her role, taking on additional duties within the firm. During this time, she had the opportunity to work alongside Jonathan, who later founded Porter Law Firm. After more than five years at her initial firm, Cassidy made the decision to join Jonathan in his family law practice, where she could continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of clients.
For Cassidy, simply showing up to work isn’t enough. She is deeply committed to expanding her knowledge and expertise in Utah family law. She finds fulfillment in researching legal matters, observing hearings, networking with professionals, and giving back to the community. She also volunteers at AFCC Mediation Day, providing free mediation for pro se litigants, further demonstrating her dedication to supporting families in need.
Cassidy has a genuine passion for family law and understands the profound trust clients place in her and the Porter Law Firm team. She takes pride in offering experience, knowledge, and practical solutions, helping clients feel secure and confident as they navigate life’s legal challenges.
Outside of work, Cassidy enjoys spending time outdoors with her family whether it’s traveling, camping, riding the SXS, or playing cornhole. She also loves reading, working on puzzles, and watching true crime documentaries.
Alyssa Gallegos
Head Paralegal
Alyssa Gallegos is the receptionist and new paralegal at Porter Law Firm, bringing eight years of customer service and receptionist experience to her role. She is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming, and organized environment for every client, ensuring they feel supported from the moment they reach out. With a natural ability to connect with people and a strong attention to detail, Alyssa helps guide clients through each step of their experience with the firm.
Her passion for family law grew from her own journey as a separated single mom. Having navigated the challenges herself, she understands how emotional and overwhelming the process can be. This personal experience fuels her commitment to making each client’s journey as smooth, compassionate, and stress-free as possible.
Outside the office, Alyssa enjoys spending quality time with her kids, traveling whenever she can, discovering new foods and local spots, and relaxing at home with her goldendoodle.
Kimberlee Grandstaff
Paralegal
Kimberlee Grandstaff has always had a strong interest in the legal field and a deep appreciation for the role the law plays in people’s lives. Born and raised in Utah, she graduated from the University of Utah in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She also earned a certification in Criminology, further strengthening her understanding of human behavior and the legal challenges people face.
Pursuing her longtime goal of becoming a paralegal, Kimberlee found her passion in family law, where she could make a real difference in the lives of others. She understands that family law matters can be deeply personal and often overwhelming, which is why she is committed to providing clients with both guidance and support throughout the process.
With a background in customer service, she values clear communication and strives to ensure clients feel heard, informed, and confident in the path ahead.
Kimberlee takes great pride in being part of a team that helps families through some of life’s most challenging moments. She believes that the right legal support can bring both clarity and peace of mind, and she is dedicated to offering compassion, knowledge, and practical solutions to every client she works with.
Outside of work, Kimberlee enjoys running, traveling, and hiking with her dog. She also cherishes time spent with family and friends.
Debbie Reed
Paralegal
Debbie Reed started her legal journey in Tucson, Arizona, as a receptionist and then working as the assistant to the Senior Partner in the law firm. She became a certified paralegal in 2003 and continues to attend seminars and legal classes to stay current on her certification and changes in the law. She has been a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants since 2003.
Debbie has been in the legal field for over 30 years. She has always had a passion and interest for the legal field and has spent her life devoted to helping people with their legal problems. She has extensive experience in family law, estate planning, probates, adoptions, guardianships, conservatorships, civil litigation, oil, gas and mineral rights, corporate and limited liability companies, real estate and criminal law. She has worked in both private practice and as a Judicial Assistant with the Eighth District Duchesne Court. Working as a Judicial Assistant has given her the knowledge of the Court’s preferences, procedures and expectations in civil and criminal cases which allows for a smoother and streamlined process for clients’ cases.
Debbie enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, cat and friends. She enjoys hikes and taking photos of nature. She also enjoys watching most sports, college basketball’s March Madness and her beloved Arizona Wildcats.
Brooke Woods
Paralegal
Brooke Woods is a paralegal at the firm who brings compassion, empathy, and dedication to every client she supports. Born and raised in Utah, Brooke began her academic journey at Weber State University, where she explored studies in social work, psychology, and art before ultimately deciding to pursue a career in paralegal studies. She earned an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from Broadview University, along with an Associate’s Degree of Science in General Studies from Weber State University.
Brooke began her paralegal career working in insurance defense and personal injury before realizing she was drawn to a more people focused area of law. Her transition into family law has allowed her to support clients during emotionally challenging times, offering steady guidance, thoughtful attention, and genuine care throughout the legal process. She is committed to helping clients feel informed, supported, and confident as they move forward.
Outside of the office, Brooke enjoys practicing yoga, spending time in nature, painting, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Janessa Jensen
Paralegal
Janessa Jensen has served the Uintah Basin for over 15 years providing excellent customer service. She attended San Juan Community college in Farmington, New Mexico and is excited to pursue her education in the legal field here in Utah. Over the last year Janessa has quickly expanded her knowledge in community resources which she has obtained many certificates including several parenting courses, healthy relationship courses, CPR First Aid/Adult/Child, and more recently became a notary.
Her interest in the legal field began with her own experiences having faced difficult times and unknown outcomes. She understands the importance of having a good legal team to direct you through some of the most challenging processes. Janessa has a compassionate ear and is attentive to every client’s needs.
Aside from work Janessa loves to spend time with her children. She enjoys long road trips and time spent in the mountains. Her hobbies include painting nature murals and DIY projects. Her favorite TV shows include Hart of Dixie, Judge Judy, Hot Bench, and Peoples Court.
